The DBU.exe program uses FTP to upload / install the updates. Is there a way to tell DBU.exe to use FTPs (port 990) when connecting to the IBM i system?

Unfortunately, there is no way to tell the executable what port to use.  We do have other options available for the install.  You can create your own CD that can then be used in the optical drive of the system you are installing to in conjunction with the command LODRUN *OPT.

For customers that require a CD we have created an ISO file that can be accessed from the following link:

http://www.dodbu.com/ISOdownload.shtml

We recommend that you download the ISO file and create a CD per the instructions on the web page.  Please note the following in the instructions:  Do NOT unzip or uncompress the ISO file. You’ll need to choose the “burn image” or “write image” option in your burning software and then choose the file. Just copying the ISO file to a CD / DVD doesn’t make the files useful.

Once you have created the CD, place it in the system optical drive and use the LODRUN *OPT to start the installation.

If you have any problems with the ISO file or have additional questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact us.
